People wishing to loose weight believe they can loose weight by only cutting back on daily calories, but what if I tell you this is not completely true. As a matter of fact if you cut back too much on your calorie intake per day by starvation and meal skipping, your body will soon reach a level where no matter how little you eat your body simply can not loose any more rather it will put it back on.

A lot of people who venture into starvation diets as a means to weight loss soon find that initially the starvation diet starts working and in a matter of days they stop dropping weight and gains even more what ever little food they eat. Also going with starvation and skipping meals unfortunately doesn't work in the long term because; hunger begins to make you weak and miserable. This will even lead to hunger related headaches and I assure you that sooner or later you will quit and eat like you never seen food.

Regardless of how long you count your calorie and skip meals, you might find that you are not getting any slimmer after the initial weight loss, and the reason for this is because the weight you lose during starvation is what could be called "water weight". Any weight lost during starvation will be gained back immediately when you stop dieting and start eating normally.

Another factor you must note is that when you starve yourself your body will begin to burn fewer calories per day, the reason this happens is that your body is like a machine and seeing that lees fuel is being supplied the best thing to do is to begin to conserve and this is why it begins to burn less calories. This is why dieters cannot make the scale go down anymore after just two weeks of dieting. They hit a "plateau" where the scale just refuses to go down any further, no matter how little you eat each day.

Serious weight loss that can be kept and maintained can only be achieved by giving your body the right types of calories at the correct each day, because your body needs all three types of calories (Fat, Protein and Carbs).

  7. Drink lots of water. Stay away of soda, or anything else. Stick to plain water or lemon juice (without sugar added). 7 or 8 glasses of water will keep your body hydrated and healthy.
